Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Flexible Packaging Solutions

Get clear, direct answers about minimum orders, lead times, materials, and production processes directly from our factory floor.

Minimum Order & Pricing

What is the real MOQ for custom pouch bags?

For digital printing, our MOQ is just 1,000 pieces per design. For traditional rotogravure printing (best for large scale), the MOQ starts at 10,000 pieces per design, depending on the physical dimensions of the bag.

Do you offer volume discounts for wholesale buyers?

Absolutely. As a direct manufacturer, our unit costs drop significantly as production volume increases. You will see major price breaks at 50,000 and 100,000 unit tiers due to raw material and machine setup efficiencies.

Are there any hidden setup or plate costs?

We quote transparently. For gravure printing, there is a one-time copper cylinder fee per color. This is a standard industry tooling cost, not a hidden fee. If you choose digital printing, there are zero plate fees.

Is the pricing different for food grade packaging bags?

We strictly use certified food-safe films as our baseline standard. However, if your product requires specialized barriers—like high-barrier EVOH for extended shelf life or retort-grade films—the raw material cost will be slightly higher.

How quickly can I get an accurate factory quote?

Send us your bag dimensions, preferred material, thickness, and estimated quantity. Our sales engineering team typically provides a comprehensive quote within 12 to 24 hours.

Custom Design & Artwork

What file format is required for custom flexible packaging?

We require vector files for crisp printing. Please provide your artwork in .AI, .EPS, or editable .PDF formats. Ensure all fonts are outlined and images are embedded at a minimum of 300 DPI.

Can you provide a blank dieline template for my designer?

Yes. Once you confirm the exact bag dimensions and style (e.g., stand-up pouch, flat bottom), our prepress team will generate a precise, scaled PDF dieline for your designer to apply the artwork onto.

How do you ensure color accuracy during mass production?

We utilize the Pantone Matching System (PMS). For large volume gravure runs, we can provide physical film drawdowns before mass production begins, ensuring the color aligns perfectly with your brand guidelines.

Can I print artwork on the bottom gusset of the pouch?

Yes, full surface printing is standard. You can print on the front, back, and the bottom gusset. This is highly recommended to maximize branding space when the product is displayed on lower retail shelves.

What happens if my design has complex gradients or photos?

Gradients and photo-realistic images print beautifully. For highly complex, multi-color designs with gradients, we often recommend our HP Indigo digital printing lines for flawless execution without the need for multiple spot color plates.

Material & Bag Type

What material structures are standard for food grade packaging bags?

Common laminated structures include PET/VMPET/PE for excellent moisture and oxygen barriers, or Kraft Paper/AL/PE for an organic look with high protection. All inner sealing layers are BPA-free and FDA compliant.

Do you manufacture sustainable or recyclable options?

Yes. We manufacture mono-material PE/PE pouches which are 100% recyclable (Level 4 LDPE). We also offer PLA-based compostable structures for brands prioritizing environmental sustainability.

What is the difference between stand-up pouches and flat bottom bags?

Stand-up pouches (Doypack) have a single bottom gusset that expands when filled. Flat bottom bags (box pouches) have side gussets and a completely flat square bottom, offering maximum internal volume and a premium, sturdy shelf presence.

Can you add custom functional features to the bags?

We install all hardware in-house. This includes one-way degassing valves for coffee beans, pour spouts for liquids, tear notches for easy opening, euro-hole punches for pegboards, and heavy-duty press-to-close zippers.

How thick should my flexible packaging be?

Standard thickness ranges from 100 to 120 microns per side. For heavy items like a 5kg bag of protein powder or pet food, we recommend 150+ microns to prevent puncture. We will advise the optimal thickness based on your specific product weight and density.

Sample Service

Can I get physical samples before placing a bulk order?

Yes. We gladly send free sample packs of our previous production runs. This allows you to evaluate our material quality, zipper strength, and print resolution. You only need to cover the DHL/FedEx courier freight.

Do you offer custom printed prototypes with my artwork?

We do. We can produce digital printed prototypes so you can present the exact bag to your stakeholders. Prototyping costs approximately $150-$200 depending on specs, and takes about 5-7 days to produce.

Are digital prototypes exactly the same as mass production?

Visually, they are extremely close. However, if your mass production will use rotogravure printing, the tactile feel and lamination stiffness of a digital prototype might vary slightly from the final bulk product.

Is the custom prototype sample fee refundable?

Yes, the prototype fee is fully credited back to your account balance if your subsequent bulk order for that specific design exceeds 50,000 pieces.

Can you make a blank dummy bag for size testing?

Certainly. We highly recommend testing your product fill volume. We can fabricate unprinted, custom-sized dummies so you can physically verify the fit before finalizing your artwork dielines.

Production & Shipping

What is your standard factory lead time?

For gravure printing, production takes 12-15 days after final artwork approval and deposit payment. Digital printing is faster, typically turning around in 7-10 days.

How are the custom pouch bags packed for international shipping?

Bags are neatly stacked inside protective PE liner bags to prevent dust and moisture, then packed into heavy-duty corrugated export cartons. For large orders, cartons are secured onto standard pallets with shrink wrap for safe ocean transit.

Can you handle door-to-door shipping (DDP)?

Yes. We partner with reliable freight forwarders to provide seamless DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping by air, sea, or rail to the US, UK, EU, and Australia. We handle customs clearance so you receive the goods directly at your warehouse.

What happens if there is a quality issue with my order?

We implement strict QC protocols across printing, lamination, and bag-making. If any manufacturing defect occurs, we take full responsibility. We will either replace the defective units in your next order or issue a refund for the affected quantity. We stand firmly behind our factory quality.

Do you hold inventory for repeat orders?

For contracted clients with regular volume, we can print and hold master roll stock in our climate-controlled warehouse for up to 6 months. This drastically reduces the lead time for your repeat custom flexible packaging orders.
